A new company is assisting law enforcement officers in moving to other departments that better support police forces.

Calls to defund the police, budget cuts, and new local and state regulations on police departments resulting from protests, looting, and violence triggered by the death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man who died in police custody in Minneapolis in late May, have caused an exodus of officers seeking out other law enforcement agencies they believe will better support their needs.

Cities that have seen officers turn in their resignations amid frustrations over their municipalities’ treatment of their departments include MinneapolisNew York CityAtlantaSeattle, and Buffalo, New York.
