On Tuesday, investigative journalist John Solomon revealed that in 2016, authorities from the Latvian government flagged a series of “suspicious” financial transactions from the notorious Ukrainian gas company Burisma to Hunter Biden, and requested help from Ukraine in investigating.

According to Solomon, “The Feb. 18, 2016 alert to Ukraine came from the Latvian prosecutorial agency responsible for investigating money laundering, and it specifically questioned whether Vice President Joe Biden’s younger son and three other officials at Burisma Holdings were the potential beneficiaries of suspect funds.”

Solomon explains that a “Latvian law enforcement memo identified a series of loan payments totaling about $16.6 million that were routed from companies in Beliz and the United Kingdom to Burisma through Ukraine’s PrivatBank between 2012 and 2015.”

The flagged payments were “partially transferred” to Hunter Biden, who had been a board member at Burisma since May 2014, and three other officials working for Burisma, the Latvian memo stated.

This new information “adds to a growing body of evidence that questions and investigations of Burisma were swirling in early 2016 just before Joe Biden used his authority as vice president to force the firing of Ukraine Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin in March 2016 by threatening to withhold $1 billion in U.S. aid.”

Shokin, who claims he was fired because of his refusal to end his investigation into Burisma, was making plans to interview Hunter Biden when he was fired. Revealed in an April 6, 2016 meeting between Burisma representatives and Ukrainian prosecutors, Shokin was fired based off of “false information.”

Despite Democrats claims that Trump’s concerns about corruption between Biden, Ukraine, and Burisma are “conspiratorial,” evidence of corruption continues to grow. This does not reflect well on the intentions behind Democrats’ impeachment efforts, since the impeachment is centered around a phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that included a brief request for Ukraine to “look into” corruption around Biden and Burisma.
