The Israeli government announced it will “allow congresswomen Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) to enter the country when they arrive for an official visit in a few weeks.”
Israeli Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer said: “out of respect for the U.S. Congress and the great alliance between Israel and America, we would not deny entry to any member of Congress into Israel.”
This is a selfless gesture on the part of Israel as Omar and Tlaib have been arguably amongst the two most anti-Israel members of the United States government.
Both women have “made waves in Congress with their denouncement of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Israel itself. Omar once commented that ‘Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel” The Washington Examiner reminds us.
Words do not get much more clear and vicious than that. That type of rhetoric usually comes from dictators such as Iran’s former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who wanted to destroy Israel and “wipe it off the map.”
Tlaib has been very vocal about her support for a one-state solution that would remove sovereignty from the Nation of Israel.
