House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy offered his copy of President Trump’s signed State of the Union address to replace the one House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tore.
“He shredded the truth, so I shredded his speech,” Pelosi told House Democrats Wednesday, according to Politico. “What we heard last night was a disgrace.”
The California Republican described stories presented in Trump’s State of the Union address, including the 100-year-old Tuskegee Airman, retired Brig. Gen. Charles McGee, McGee’s great-grandson, who “dreams of going to space,” and “a single mother Stephanie Davis and her lovely fourth grade daughter Janiyah, who received an Opportunity Scholarship.”
