As if it were not venomous enough for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to equate migrant detention facilities at the southern border of the United States to Holocaust concentration camps, 300 “scholars” are defending her.

After Cortez’s statement, many called for her to apologize, which she refused to do saying “she would ‘never apologize for calling these camps what they are” The Hill reported.

In response to Cortez, the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum released a statement that it “unequivocally rejects efforts to create analogies between the Holocaust and other events, whether historical or contemporary.”

Apparently, a group of supposed “scholars” was offended that the museum sees a difference between the death of 6 million Jews and holding people, who knowingly broke the law, in sanitary buildings and were therefore compelled to write an open letter. Over 300 self-proclaimed scholars signed the open letter to the Holocaust Museum urging them to retract their statement of rejecting the analogy:

The Museum’s decision to completely reject drawing any possible analogies to the Holocaust, or to the events leading up to it, is fundamentally ahistorical…It has the potential to inflict severe damage on the Museum’s ability to continue its role as a credible, leading global institution dedicated to Holocaust memory, Holocaust education, and research in the field of Holocaust and genocide studies.

The request is so illogical it is hard to come up with an adequate response. It’s impossible to fight illogic with logic. Their comments on damaging the museum’s credibility on Holocaust education and genocide studies is beyond too ridiculous to address and waste precious breath on.

However, what is important to address here is that it’s exactly this rhetoric and actions like this from liberals and the left that allow for our Representatives to get away with saying vicious lies without any accountability.
